A review of most famous Cappuccino Makers Manufacturers
Jura-Capresso
Jura-Capresso is the result of the merge of two companies, Capresso Inc. and Jura-Capresso LLC. Capresso
was founded in 1994 while Jura AG in 1931, in Switzerland.
Capresso has been often awarded for providing innovative coffee equipment, for their design and
performance.
Jura is known worldwide for some innovative and user friendly features introduced especially in its
cappuccino makers, such as the one-touch cappuccino button and the easy to read multi-language displays. It is also known for research on energy saving and space saving products.
Jura-Capresso provides a serious and very professional customer service, which is a further added value to
its already excelent products.
Gaggia
Gaggia S.p.A. is the best know italian manufacturer of coffee machines, both for professional and for
homehold uses. It has been founded by Achille Gaggia in 1948, the same man who in 1938 filed the patent
with which it may be said the modern steam-free coffee with cream machine was born.
In 1977 Gaggia started producing espresso machines for home use, launchin the Baby Gaggia into the italian
market, which nowadays it is still considered a sort of ideal machine for that kind of use.
Nowadays Gaggia offers a wide range of automatic and semi-automatic coffe machines and capppuccino
makers.
Unfortunately customer service in the U. S. is not provided directly by Gaggia, but by Importika, the
importer. There are different opinions about the service provided by this company: while some customers
think they have received an accettable treatment, some others feel definitely unsatisfied.
Saeco
Saeco International Group is a world leading manufacturer and marketer of coffe machines and cappuccino
makers for professional and homehold users; it is also known for automatic vending machines for cold and
hot beverages and snacks. It has been founded in Italy in 1981 and, since then, it has grown as to become
a strong international group with a significative presence in Europe, in the United States, Latin America,
Australia and Asia.
Customer service in the U.S. seems not to be the exactly the best, especially for trouble shooting
assistance, and could become a real issue for unexperienced customers and for those who need technical
assistance.
Bialetti
Bialetti was established in Italy in 1919. In 1933 Alfonso Bialetti created the Moka Express, the coffee
pot considered to have revolutioned the way italians make coffee at home, and which transformed Bialetti
in a leading manufacturer of coffee makers. In 1998 Bialetti acquired Rondine Italia, a company
specialized in making alluminium saucepans. Nowadays the Company is able to offer a wide variety of
products, coffee makers and cappuccino makers, most of them directly derived from the glorious Moka
Express.
According to some customers, customer service need to be improved in order to become acceptable.
Nespresso
The Nestlé Nespresso SA Company (Paudex, Switzerland) is part of the Nestlé Group. It is a strategic
busines in its own and basically operates in two market segments: the Nespresso Business-to-Customer
division and the Nespresso Business-to-Business division.
Nespresso provides an excelent customer and after sale service, which is essential for the supply of
their proprietary coffee and cappuccino capsules Nespresso coffee machines won’t work without and which
is, actually, their main business.
La Pavoni
La Pavoni S.p.A was founded in Milan (Italy) in 1905, and begun manufacturing espresso coffee machines
after purchasing Luigi Bezzera’s patent. They were absolutely the first espresso coffee machines available
in the world, kind of vertical machines with a boiler kept at a constant pressure by a gas ring. La
Pavoni’s espresso machines quickly spread over Europe, and then to the whole world. Nowadays the Company
produces a wide variety of espresso machines and cappuccino makers both for professional and homehold
users.
La Pavoni doesn’t seem to have a very reliable customer service in the U.S.
Espressione
Espressione International LTD was founded in November 2000 by tree industry veterans. Their official
coffee blend supplier is an old wood italian coffee roaster in the Amalfi coast (Italy) who has been in
business for over 50 years, having mastered the tecnique of producing blends of coffee for professionals,
and whose dimension and flexibility make them able to guarantee efficient deliveries of every range of
products both in the Italian domestic and in the international market.
Their customer and technical service in the U.S. seems not to work very well, apparently because of lack
of techical personnel.
Krups
Krups begun producing coffee grinders, both for industrial and for retail market, in 1956. In 1983 started
producing espresso machines for the German market. After having been introduced in the United States
Krups’ espresso machines begun to grow in popularity and today Krups is considered a leader in coffe
equipment manufacturing.
According to some customers Krups provides great customer service while some others are definetly
disappointed.
DeLonghi
DeLonghi was born in 1902 as a family business manufacturing hand-made wood-stoves. Later, in 1950 it
became a more structured business, with a factory producing heat components. In 1975 starts to make
busines with its own trademark, basically heaters and radiators for the home use. Later the variety of
produts manufactured and traded widened, including espresso and cappuccino makers.
It seems that customer service in the U.S. is not exactly “customer oriented” and quite slow for parts
replacement.
